Edith Piaf’s lover, Yves Montand
Edith Piaf (1915.12.19-1963) was the greatest popular singer in France and the most famous musician of the 20th century.
Edith Piaf was born in Berville, a poor working area in Paris, France, to an acrobat father on the street and a singer’s mother who sang on the street.
My mother is a third-rate singer on the street, and she made a living by building a career by singing here and there, and due to these unfortunate circumstances, she was unable to properly support her young Edith.
For this reason, Edith was left to his maternal grandmother, an alcoholic, and then spent his early childhood there, being left to his paternal grandmother of a brothel.

1. Edith Piaf’s first man, Louis Dupont, and giving birth to a daughter
The following year, in 1930, Piaf met Simone Bertheaut from the age of 15, and Piaf spent most of her life as a companion to Simone.
In 1932, when Piaf was 16, he met a young man named Louis Dupont and lived together for a while.
She became pregnant and gave birth to a daughter, Marcel Dupont, in 1933.
After Piaf’s relationship with Dupont ended, her daughter Marcel, who lived with her father, contracted meningitis and died in 1935 at the age of two.
In 1935, Piaf was discovered by nightclub owner Louis Leplée, who persuaded Piaf to sing at the nightclub and worked with him.
Leplée gave the short, slender Piaf the nickname La Môme Piaf, a Parisian slang term meaning “wipe sparrow” or “little sparrow.”

However, Leplée, who worked with Piaf, was suddenly killed on April 6, 1936.

He was acquitted, but Piaf was disappointed. She gave birth to a daughter at a young age, but died of illness a year ago, and separated from Louis Dupont, the baby’s father.
However, Leplée, who protected her from living difficulties, was killed and falsely accused of murder, making it difficult for her to be cleared by the court’s ruling.
Although negative media attention threatened Piaf’s career, Edith changed her stage name to “Edith Piaf” and tried to restore her image. She also hired Raymond Asso to have a romantic relationship.
2. Meet Edith Piaf, a male hunter, and Yves Montand
Piaf’s reputation gained momentum during the German occupation of France during World War II.
She began building friendships with prominent people such as actor and singer Maurice Chevalier and poet Jacques Bourgeat.
And he performed at various nightclubs that flourished as popular with soldiers who participated in the war.
As her fame rose, her male formation began. Edith Piaf’s lovers diversified.
At first promising young singers rescued them singing in slums or shabby clubs, but later they went to Piaf’s house for help.
One of the people who visited the house and called for help was Gilbert Bécaud, Charles Aznavour, Georges Moustaqui, and Yves Montand.
Among them, Yves Montand had a long relationship, not a short meeting.
Aznavur worked as a driver for piaf. He was taught to sleep with Edith, how to sing, how to get on stage, choose writers and proper songs and was taught by piaf until he grew up as a singer.
And let them grow up alone once they have grown to some extent.

In early 1944, Piaf performed at the Moulin Rouge Cabaret in Paris, where he met the young and handsome Yves Montand. and fell in love with him.
Yves Montand (1921–1991) was an Italian-born French actor and singer, the son of a broom maker.
After Mussolini’s fascist regime in 1923, he left Italy for France. He then fled to Paris to escape the Germans during World War II.
She met Edith Piaf in Paris in 1944 during World War II and was selected by her.
The two fell in love with each other at first sight, and Piaf taught Yves Montand, just an unknown singer and actor, everything they needed on stage one by one.
He was 23 and Edith 29 years old. Edith taught Montand everything and made Yves Montand part of her as a lover and student.
Yves Montand, who had a natural talent and was sponge-absorbed by Edith’s teachings, gradually gained fame in France as an actor and appeared in many films.
In less than a year, Yves Montand became one of France’s most famous singers, and his song about Paris became famous enough to immediately become a classic of Chanson.

Meanwhile, Yves Montand, who broke up with Edith, married beauty actor Simone Signore in 1951, and they co-starred in several films.
His marriage to Signore lasted until Montand’s death in 1985, but there was a scandal with Marlin Monroe at one point.
Yves Montand died in November 1991 of a heart attack at his home in Provence, France.
